Special Someone Week – Project 2

Happy Wednesday!

This week is going by a little too quickly for my little guy and I. I suppose that is only because we have been having fun exploring. Yesterday we spent the majority of the day outside. It was a gorgeous day and the pollen count was low enough for us to enjoy it! I hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful Spring weather this year!

Today’s card features a fun little creature that we see scampering around all over right now! He is here to wish you Get Well Greetings. The Special Someone stamp set is on the Retiring List this year, so if you want to add him to your stamp collection, you need to do it ASAP because once he sells out, he is gone forever!

I started today’s card with a card base of Rococo Rose that measures 8-1/2″x5-1/2″ and is scored at 4-1/4″. Unfortunately, Rococo Rose cardstock is now retired and out of stock. However, this could have a card base of Basic White and still look just as cute.

Next, I embossed my Blushing Bride card front, measuring 4″x5-1/4″, using the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder. Scripty is also on the Retiring List, so make sure you grab it before it is gone! I absolutely love this embossing folder for anything that needs a soft touch to it. I use it on baby cards, the luggage cards I tuck in my hubby’s luggage every time he travels, wedding cards, and get well cards, to name a few.

Then, I stamped my little squirrel using Basic Gray and Smoky Slate for his fur. This set also has a matching die set (Special Day Dies). When I first bought it, it did not have the dies and I dreaded having to fussy cut the critters, but now it is so much easier! Now I just stamp a bunch of critters and cut the out with the dies and place them in the stamp case for future use.

The dies come with the special balloon string die, so no more having to tack down bits of twine for the balloons. I cut out his little paw to make it look like he was holding the strings.

The balloons are stamped in Rococo Rose and Blushing Bride. The Rococo Rose Classic Stampin’ Pad is also on the Retiring List, so make sure you snatch it up before it is gone! (As of this morning, it is still available) The sentiment is stamped in Rococo Rose. Everything was tacked down to the card front with dimensionals or foam adhesive strips so it could pop off of the Scripty background.

For the bottom sentiment, I stamped it in Rococo Rose and made it into a banner. I like the look of a matted banner, so I matted it with Rococo Rose as well.

This card would look super cute in any two shades of color. I am sorry that Rococo Rose sold out so quickly! It is one of my favorite In Colors and I am sad to see it go. However, I am sure I will fall in love with the 2021-2023 In Colors!

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Make sure to subscribe to Let It Snow Stamping so you never miss another blog post. Every week I pick a stamp set and make one project (possibly two) every weekday. As an added bonus I also make videos for new techniques. The techniques can also be found under the Technique Corner tab.
