Sweet Ice Cream – Thursday – Let It Snow Stamping

Today’s project goes back to the ice cream cone. I love pop-sickles, but ice cream in a bowl or cone cannot be topped! I am a huge fan of hot fudge sundaes. My kids know it’s not a good thing if we run out of Vanilla Bean ice cream.

I have seen several cards on Pinterest that use the white punches or die cuts to make the background and thought it was very pretty. It is busy and decorative, but does not take away from the focal point of the card.

When I made this card, I taped the scoop to the cone (on the backside) so I had a solid piece to adhere to the card front. Next I lined up the cones and glued them down on the card front (3-3/4″x5″). The ones that hung over the edge I trimmed with scissors.

Next, I mounted the white card front to a Early Espresso layer (4″x5-1/4″) before mounting it to my card base (5-1/2″x8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″).

For the ice cream cone, I punched it out in white and used the blending brushes to color it with Crumb Cake for the Cone and Highland Heather for the scoop. Then I stamped the accent images on top (Highland Heather & Early Espresso).

To help the colored ice cream cone stand out a bit more, I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it up and the sentiment as well.

I also added some of the clear dots from the Flowers for Every Season Gems pack. Don’t forget to add a tid bit of color to the inside of your card to finish it off.
