A Touch of Ink Week – Project #2 – Let It Snow Stamping

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone stayed warm today! I love winter, but this bitter cold is no fun. At least my car doors did not freeze shut today, so that is something to be thankful for!

Today’s project is part of a One Sheet Wonder set. What is a One Sheet Wonder set? It is a set of cards that is made using one sheet of Designer Series Paper cut into usable pieces without any waste. The DSP is paired with cardstock and embellishments to make quick and easy cards. If you Google “One Sheet Wonder cards” you will find a treasure trove of ideas. There are tons of cut patterns to choose from.

Here is the pattern I used for my cards today.

Today’s project used one of the “F” pieces. I used the backside of this particular DSP sheet. That is the other wonderful thing about One Sheet Wonders. If you use two sided paper, you get even more combinations that coordinate. Here are the supplies I prepped before I started. With this pattern I can make up to 12 cards, using one cut piece per card.

To supplement I pre-cut 12 card bases in colors matching the DSP, 12 large tags in matching cardstock, 12 smaller tags and several rectangle tags in white from the Stitched So Sweetly die set, and I prepped 12 white card fronts with different embossing folders. Now I am all set to make 12 matching cards.

For this card, I chose piece “F” from the cut DSP, the Old World Paper embossing folder card front, a rectangle piece where I stamped the humming bird, and the sentiment which I used the Double Oval Punch to cut out. I had to change up my sentiment tag because the humming bird was larger than I had planned and I did not want to cut any of it off.

First I glued down the card front and the DSP piece to the card base (Night of Navy).

Then I used Stampin’ Dimensionals for both the humming bird and the sentiment.

Next I tied a small bow to add to the top corner of the humming bird. I used the fork method to get it perfect. I am terrible at tying card bows if left to my own devices.

Then I glued down the bow with the Fine Tip Glue. I also used this glue to adhere the clear gems onto the sentiment.

Such a sweet little card.

The prep work before hand makes it so easy to make these simple but beautiful cards.

Once I have completed the PDF for this One Sheet Wonder set, it will be available for $5 in my Etsy shop. It will include the OSW pattern with dimensions, and instructions to make all 12 cards. These cards make great pen pals cards or you can make them into boxed sets to give as gifts.
