Sale-A-Bration Scramble Week – Project #1

Happy Monday! The weather is nice and semi warm today making the snow all slushy. It felt like I was running errands forever today! All three pups went out today. One for a health check-up and the other two to the groomer for baths. Then I took the kids and my mother-in-law, who is visiting until tomorrow, shopping for a bit, just so they could get out of the house. Once I got home, I was bushed. That being said, today’s cards are rather simple.

The reason this week’s blog posts are titled Sale-A-Bration Scramble is because I need to use the last few sets I have from SAB since it ends this weekend on the 28th. If there are any SAB sets or DSP you would like, make sure you place the order this week because they won’t be available after Sunday!

For these two cards I used Granny Apple Green for the card bases. They measure 5-1/2″x8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. For the card on the left I used a piece of Bumblebee cardstock for the first layer. It measures 5-1/4″x4″. The piece of DSP measures 5″x3-3/4″. I used one of the larger rectangles in the Stitched Rectangles Die set.

The sentiment is stamped in Bumblebee and is from the Heal Your Heart SAB set. This is a wonderful set of nothing but sentiments. There are 6 sentiments in all.

The Corner Bouquet stamp was stamped in Granny Apple Green and the accent flowers in Cherry Cobbler. I love how easy it was to add some color to the bouquet. I do not like to color so markers cause me a lot of grief, LOL. I am one of those people who do not find coloring relaxing. So, having the little flower to add color to the bouquet was a life saver! To add more pop to my bouquet I also used my Wink of Stella pen to add a little bit of sparkle.

I added a bit of Flowers for Every Season Whisper White ribbon. Like my norm, I did a cheater bow and glued it on. This time I glued it using a dimensional.

Another way I added dimension was to add dimensionals to the white rectangle to pop it off of the card base.

the second card

I did not want to make another corner card, so I borrowed this idea from Narelle Fasulo. I stamped the smaller corner stamp four times in Granny Apple Green to create the bouquet wreath.

Here is what it should look like. I did it in different colors so you could see it better. I do have to say that it is much easier to do this technique with a stamping platform like the Stamparatus. That way you can position the stamp once and just turn the paper. This piece of Basic White measures 4-1/4″x4-1/4″. The side pieces of DSP measure 1-1/2″x4-1/4″. I taped them to the back side of the center floral piece before gluing down on the card base.

I think this Thank You stamp is my new favorite for my Thank You cards. Too bad it will retire in 6 days! But, since I keep all of my stamp sets to make cards for smiles, I don’t mind.

I used a blending brush with Cherry Cobbler to give the sentiment tag some color, then stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler. Next I stamped the little flowers in Bumblebee and added some rhinestones to add some bling. You can color rhinestones with the Stampin’ Blends to match your needs. I don’t have a Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends, so I used Dark Real Red.

I popped up the sentiment with dimensionals as well.
