2021-2022 Annual Catalog Sneak Peek Week – Project 5

Happy Stampin’ Friday!

Are you ready for the weekend? This weekend I will be participating in my team’s virtual party and will be demonstrating how to make a pinwheel card. If you would like to join us, visit our Team Virtual Party Page. The party will begin at 10am CDT tomorrow, May 1st. Hope to see you there!

Today’s card features the Natural Textures cling stamp set. This is a host set and can be earned by hosting either a virtual party or a virtual card making workshop. Contact me at LISStamping@gmail.com to schedule your party today!

Natural Textures

Start out with a piece of Basic White cardstock measuring 4″x5-1/4″. Stamp one of the texture stamps from the Natural Textures set in Sahara Sand. Next, gently tear the edges of the cardstock to distress it.

Next, using a Blending Brush, add Sahara Sand to the edges of the cardstock

Now, mount the cardstock (card front) to a Sahara Sand card base measuring 8-1/2″x5-1/2″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″.

Next, on a scrap piece of Basic White, stamp a butterfly in Blackberry Bliss using the Butterfly Brilliance stamp and cut out with the coordinating die. The die set, Brilliant Wings, also comes with individual skeleton butterfly dies, which I used to cut out the Blackberry Bliss cardstock butterfly on the right.

Butterfly Brilliance

Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the white butterfly and mount to the card front.

I placed mine in the center and a little crooked.

Layer the skeleton butterfly on top of the stamped butterfly. Only adhere it down the middle body part of the butterfly.

Next, bend the wings up from the body for a little 3D effect.

Lastly, add a small sentiment stamp in Blackberry Bliss to the bottom corner of the card. I used “hello” from the Best Year stamp set.

Here is a close-up of the distressed edge.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Make sure to subscribe to Let It Snow Stamping so you never miss another blog post. Every week I pick a stamp set and make one project (possibly two) every weekday. As an added bonus I also make videos for new techniques. The techniques can also be found under the Technique Corner tab.
