Sneak Peak – Enjoy the Moment (Day 5)

Happy New Year!!

Who else is glad 2021 is finally here?? I love a new year. It has so many possibilities!

What is a new year without some explosions?? Last night I kept going over the possibilities of how to tackle this project today while playing MineCraft with the kids (Yes, my two youngest kids hooked me into playing with them!) While my youngest blew up my house (that he built for me, lucky kid!) I thought “Hey! How about we make an exploding card?” This card falls under the minor explosion card title. I didn’t want the first project of the year to be too difficult!

The color choices and card front were inspired by Gail Ellis of Blue Rose Paper Treasures. It is such a sweet design. I used Balmy Blue and Crumb Cake cardstocks.

The inside is so much fun! Lots to look at as it pops out at you when you open it! The pop out design came from Dee Slater of Splitcoast Stampers. I made my own pattern paper using the fun pods in Enjoy the Moment. I did the white in embossing powder so they popped a little more. In the bottom diamond there is space for your personalized greeting and signature.

I had a ton of fun doing the paint splatter. I used my white re-inker, mixed with two spritzes of water. I could not find a regular paint brush in my craft room (Gasp!) so I used the next best thing, an empty water brush to tap and splatter the paint with. I used clesr gems to add “water droplets” to the design.

Baker’s Twine was used on my card front to make the bow.

Don’t forget the foam tape for the sentiment! I cannot tell you how much I love this card! I may end up keeping it for myself!
