Today I needed to make a sympathy card for a friend who’s mother recently passed. I have never met a card maker who enjoys making sympathy cards, but I have seen some beautiful ones. I hope my card brings a bit of comfort. I will apologize in advance for the photos. It turns out that gray and white are hard to capture. This card is stunning in real life.
The Smoky Slate card base measures 8-1/2″x5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. I used my VersaMark pad and white embossing powder with the Corner Bouquet stamp set. Using a blending brush, I added a layer of Smoky Slate followed with Basic Gray to darken the edges.

Next, I used the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder to add texture to the card front.
Using Basic Gray, I stamped the sentiment from Heal Your Heart on a scrap of Basic White, then cut it out using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies set. When adhering it to the card I used dimensionals to pop it up off the card front.

I also added Foam Adhesive Strips to the card front to adhere it to the Smoky Slate card base. Don’t forget the clear gems to soften the look of the textured background.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Make sure to subscribe to Let It Snow Stamping so you never miss another blog post. Every week I pick a stamp set and make one project (possibly two) every weekday. As an added bonus I also make videos for new techniques. The techniques can also be found under the Technique Corner tab.
