Happy Tuesday!
Sorry I have been MIA! Last week we were on Spring Break vacation in Niagara Falls, NY, so I spent a lot of one on one time with my youngest child. My husband works in Niagara Falls and keeps an apartment for his travels. My son and I were tired of the same four walls, so we decided to tag along to view a different set of four walls, plus some new outdoor sights. It was really cold most of the time we were there, but it did warm up on Tuesday, and the sun came out on Friday. Even though it was 30 degrees on Friday, we went out sightseeing. Hence the reason there was no Friday post.
Below is the barrier fence at Old Fort Niagara! Isn’t that so cool? It was a good thing we took our winter coats with us on this trip! I think this was my favorite thing to photograph on Friday. This is just what I captured with my iPhone to show my parents.

Once we arrived at home, I was still on vacation mode. Well, sort of. I came home to a disaster! It seems that my kitchen took the biggest hit in my older children’s preparation for Easter the following day. Not what I wanted to see after driving from NY to IL!
When I finally sat down to create yesterday’s project it was late in the evening and wouldn’t you guess it!?!? I had computer issues! My photos were not transferring from my iPad to my computer like they are supposed to. After a lot of trial and error, I gave up and went to bed. I still had issues this morning and hubby figured out that our repeater was unplugged for some reason. I need this thing in order to get WiFi in my office. Ugh! Well, at least things are working in my favor at the moment and I am able to post!
Pampered Pets Bundle to retire!
The Pampered Pets Bundle is due to retire. However, the stamps and dies will still be available in the new catalog, but will be sold separately.
What does this mean for you?
It means that you will no longer get the 10% savings when you buy the stamps and dies together. If you plan to buy this bundle, do it as soon as possible before it’s too late. Once the bundled package is gone, you will only be able to buy it separately.
Yesterday’s Project
If you hurry, you can also buy the retiring Playful Pets Designer Series Paper! However, since it is retiring, I decided to make my samples this week without it. Most of the samples you find on Pinterest use the DSP (and they are SO cute!) and that is no fun if you are no longer able to buy the paper once it is gone.
This project started out with a Night of Navy card base that measures 4-1/4″x5-1/2″ and was scored at 4-1/4″ for that nice crisp fold.
Next, using Night of Navy ink, I stamped the dog’s back all over in different directions.
Then, I made a frame out of the front part of the card base using the Rectangle Stitched Dies and centering it in the middle.

Next, I opened the card and lined it with Basic White cardstock. Each piece of white measures 4″x5-1/4″. Remember to carefully adhere the left one since there is a hole there from the rectangle die.

Now that I have the white backing showing through the frame, I can put the cut out back in place. Before I do that, I want to use dimensionals to pop it up. You can see the white inside layer peeking out under the blue rectangle.

On scraps of Basic White, I stamped my dog in Basic Gray and my sentiment in Real Red. Then, I cut out the dog using the Pets Dies and the sentiment using the Everyday Label Punch. I colored in my pup with Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.

The sentiment mat is made with Real Red cardstock and the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. This is the most versatile die set ever! I use it for most of my sentiments. Glue the sentiment onto the mat. Center and mount onto the lifted rectangle. I did not use dimensionals on the sentiment so I could mail it. If you are not planning on mailing the finished card, add more dimension!

Same with the pup, I did not use dimensionals, but I think it would look super cute with them if you are going to hand deliver the card. Finish up the card with some bling. My placement could have been better. From the angle of the picture below, it looks like my pup is opening up his mouth for some bubble treats, LOL!

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Make sure to subscribe to Let It Snow Stamping so you never miss another blog post. Every week I pick a stamp set and make one project (possibly two) every weekday. As an added bonus I also make videos for new techniques. The techniques can also be found under the Technique Corner tab.
