2021-2022 Annual Catalog Sneak Peek Week – Project 2

Happy Stampin’ Tuesday!

Spring like weather makes me want to open the windows up wide to get some fresh air in the house. I love Spring!

Today’s project uses one of the fun Host sets from the upcoming 2021-2022 Annual Catalog titles Prince & Princess. The reason I bought this one was for the beautiful swan and who can pass up the adorable frog? If you have your catalog it can be found on page 170.

The Double Triangle Fold is an easy fold for anyone who wants to bump up with card making skills. I think this has become my favorite April fun fold. If you need step by step instructions, please visit the Snailed It Week – Project 4 post.

The card base is the new In Color Fresh Freesia.

The Basic White card front measures 4″x5-1/4″. First I ran it through the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder, and then cut it in half diagonally to fit on the card front. Make sure to cut the diagonal to match your card base. Yeah, I did one the wrong way, LOL, that’s why I’m giving the warning!

The sentiment was stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White in Fresh Freesia ink. It measures 1-1/2″x1/2″. The Fresh Freesia banner mat measures 2-1/2″x3/4″ and is popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Dimensionals adding heights

The Belly Band is made using Vellum Cardstock. It measures 8-1/2″x1″ and is scored at 2″ and again at 4-1/4″. I used Tear & Tape adhesive to glue it to the swan embellishment.

Wrap the Belly Band around the card base and set aside.

On Basic White, stamp the swan, using Smoky Slate, two times, creating two images. Using the largest circle die in the Layering Circles die set, cut out one of the swans. Next, fussy cut the wing from the other swan image. Add some Stampin’ Dimensionals to the wing and adhere it to the swan, making sure to line it up. Next, using the Wink of Stella pen, highlight the feathers, head, and neck of the swan.

Using the largest scalloped circle die, cut a mat using Fresh Freesia card stock and glue to the swan.

Next, stamp the flowers on a scrap of Basic White using Smoky Slate ink and color in using a Water Painter brush. I used Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent for the leaves, and Polished Pink and Fresh Freesia for the flowers. I also colored in the swan’s beak using Pale Papaya. Of course I forgot to do it on this one, but added it later!

Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the flowers and adhere to the bottom of the circle.

Glue circle embellishment to the Belly Band.
