Sweet Little Stockings – Project 1

Happy Stampin’ Monday!

Today I am celebrating 24 years with the love of my life. He has been there through thick and thin, and I can always count on his hugs when I need them. He brings a smile to my face on a daily, if not hourly, basis to keep my spirits up as I journey through this crazy thing we call life. I am lucky to have him by my side.

Instructions

Begin by folding your card base at 4-1/2″ and burnishing it with a bone folder for a nice, crisp fold.

Next, cut out large tag from Basic White Cardstock.

Stamp texture background on tag by first stamping on a sheet of scratch paper and then stamp onto tag without reinking the stamp.

Distress the edges of the tag with a Blending Brush and Sahara Sand ink.

Cut out stocking from DSP and stocking accents from Old Olive felt.

Glue felt accents onto stocking using liquid glue. Do not add too much glue as it will bleed through felt.

Adhere the stocking to the center of the tag.

Stamp cat using Tuxedo Black in on a scrap of white card stock and color in using Sahara Sand ink pad and a water painter brush.

Hint – Press small acrylic block to ink pad to use as a pallet. Use water painter like a regular paint brush to pick up ink. Keep in mind that the first stroke on the paper is the darkest, so start on the edge and draw ink to center of image.

Cut out cat with coordinating die. Using dimensionals, adhere cat to the top of the stocking.

Stamp sentiment on small piece of Sahara Sand. Adhere to tag bottom.

Run Old Olive piece through embossing machine with Timeworn Type embossing folder.

Adhere embossed piece to card base at an angle.

Adhere tag to embossed card front.

Embellish inside panel with small stamp and Sahara Sand ink. Adhere panel to inside of card base.

Cut an 18” length of ribbon and tie to card spine. Trim ends of ribbon to desired length.
