Quite Curvy Week – Project #3 – Let It Snow Stamping

Hello! Today has dawned bright and cheery in Northern IL. We got about an inch of snow last night so everything looks shiny and clean. However, going outside is an adventure! When I got up this morning it was 8 degrees and I did not bother to check what the wind chill was! Before I got ready for the day I lit a fire in the fireplace to warm up the house.

I know yesterday I said I would try a fun fold for today’s project, but while I was watching a Facebook Live video, I was inspired to make a beach scene. I must have been longing to be at the beach, because the project on the FB Live was not beachy at all!!

Some of the creative juices had started to flow again. First, I pulled out a white card front and using blending brushes, I gently mixed Bermuda Bay ink and Pacific Point ink. I started one color in one corner and the other in the opposite corner, then blended until they met and crossed at the middle. Remember yesterday when I said I loved blue? I really love these two blues. They make the best ocean colors. Then I used my Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder to make the ocean waves. I did add a touch more blue to the embossed paper to make the ridges pop a little more.

Next, I grabbed a piece of Crumb Cake to make the sandy area of the card. First I ran it through the Big Shot using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. Then I used the curvy die to make my beach front. Once all of that was finished, I used a blending brush and Crumb Cake ink to give a bit more color.

The little frilly part almost looks like water splashing up onto the sand. To symbolize the white wave crests, I used the Pearl Basic Jewels. I may have to buy more of those soon after yesterday’s card and today’s card, LOL! I love these little pearls!

This morning I finished up the card with the sentiment. I tried all different types of rectangle dies, but this ornate frame looked best along my beach. It comes from the Ornate Frames Dies in the 20-21 Annual Catalog. This particular die is my favorite in the whole set with it’s intricate edges. It always make the cards look beautiful!
