Happy Wednesday! Another beautiful day outside my window with the sun shining and blue skies.
Today’s card is an anniversary card. I used a sketch from my sketchbook that I carry around with me. Does anyone carry a sketchbook? I have one within reach in my car and on the boat. I never know when inspiration will hit. I could be inspired by a billboard or sign, or maybe even a landscape. I have another sketchbook that has all of the sketches I collect from the internet.
It is a pretty basic sketch, so I took my card base (8-1/2″x5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″) and ran half of it through the embossing machine using the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder to add a bit of texture to the Balmy Blue card base. Next, I ran a piece of Basic White cardstock measuring 4-1/4″x3″ and the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing folder through the machine as well.
I stamped the image using the Momento Tuxedo Black stamp pad and cut it out with one of the larger rectangles from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. If you want a versatile die set to meet many of your card making needs, this one is it! If you look back at past card, especially my One Sheet Wonder cards, you will see that I use this set more than any other. It is great for frames and sentiment tags. Definitely worth the money!
The sentiment was stamped in Balmy Blue on a 4-1/4″x1-1/2″ piece of Soft sea Foam strip and glued it to the white embossed layer toward the bottom.
Lastly, I used dimensionals to pop up the couple and added a few of the really cute Resin Hearts. I had been saving these and they were perfect for today’s project!
I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Make sure to subscribe to Let It Snow Stamping so you never miss another blog post. Every week I pick a stamp set and make one project (possibly two) every weekday. As an added bonus I also make videos for new techniques. The techniques can also be found under the Technique Corner tab.
