Art Gallery Week – Project 5

Happy Stampin’ Friday!

Another end to another great week! We had good news from the vet about my 18 year old pup who couldn’t walk the other day. His arthritis was acting up, but he is back to his wonderful self today. The weather warmed up just in time for our camping trip tonight. It is supposed to rain tomorrow, but that’s OK as long as it stays warm.

Here is a quick card I made while trying to pack for the trip. It is amazing how much stuff I need, LOL.

Cardstock Needed:

  • Melon Mambo card base measuring 4-1/4″x11, scored and folded at 5-1/2″
  • Basic White inside panel measuring 4″x5-1/4″
  • Scrap pieces of Basic White for flower and sentiment
  • Flirty Flamingo sentiment mat measuring 2-3/4″x1/2″

First we need to cut out the flower shape from the card base. You will do this on the front of the card.

See where the blossom meets the stem on the picture above? I trimmed that off.

Next, run the front of the card base through the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. For step-by step instructions on how to do this, please visit the Paper Pets Week – Project 2 post.

Then I lined the inside of my card with Basic White.

Using the scrap of Basic White, I stamped my images and cut them out with the coordinating dies.

Next, I folded down the card front to use as a template on where to stick my flower pieces. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals for the flower.

Then I carefully opened the card to view my placement.

Next I prepped my sentiment and glued it to the card front. I added a cute little bow made with the Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and glued it down with a Glue Dot.

In this picture you can see the dimension the Stampin’ Dimensionals give the flower so it does not look so flat when you open the card.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Make sure to subscribe to Let It Snow Stamping so you never miss another blog post. Every week I pick a stamp set and make one project (possibly two) every weekday. As an added bonus I also make videos for new techniques. The techniques can also be found under the Technique Corner tab.
