Counting Sheep – Project 4

La-La-La-La-La! Happy Stampin’ Thursday!

All week I have been looking for the perfect layout for this darling sheep. It is the last of the three images included in the Sale-A-Bration Counting Sheep Cling stamp set. Isn’t it absolutely adorable? It remind me of myself as I sing while doing chores. My kids now expect me to do hand gestures like this as I sing and drive, LOL! They just explain to their friends that their mom is either crazy or weird, and you know what? I’m OK with that! That is much better than being the mean or boring mom any day!

This card is a quick card to make. I think the part that took the longest was choosing what paper to use!

The Project:

Casual Level (Intermediate)

  • Stampin’ Dimensionals

Instructions:

When choosing a pattern paper, go for the double sided paper for ease of matching with your cardstock. On every Stampin’ Up! DSP paper pack, there is a list of coordinating colors to help!

Gather you paper materials. Fold Basic White card base and burnish with bone folder for a crisp fold.

Mount Blushing Bride card front to card base with Seal adhesive

My original piece of DSP measured 3-1/2″x5″ and then I cut it to the measurement needed. Then, I simply flipped over the center piece when adhering to the card front.

Using a scrap piece of Vellum Cardstock, I cut out this circle shape from the Painted Labels Die set to mount behind my singing sheep.

On a scrap of Basic White cardstock I stamped the sheep using Basic Gray and cut out with the Counting Sheep Die set.

Next, I highlighted the wool with a Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends marker and it’s face with a Light Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends marker.

Mount the sheep onto the vellum circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To hide the adhesive on the vellum, place it under the sheep’s image and then mount to the card front.

Stamp the sentiment using Blushing Bride ink on the small rectangle.

Mount to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Add 3 Pearl Basic Jewels.

The Finished Project:

The Stampin’ Dimensionals add a bit of height to the sheep to make it stand out better on the card, and helps to avoid blending in with the background.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Make sure to subscribe to Let It Snow Stamping so you never miss another blog post. Every week I pick a stamp set and make one project (possibly two) every weekday. As an added bonus I also make videos for new techniques.
