Merry Snowflakes – Project 3

Happy Stampin’ Wednesday!

Today I wanted to feature a Beginner I card using this beautiful bundle. Today you will only need a paper trimmer, cardstock, ink, ribbon, and foam adhesive if you have some, otherwise regular adhesive will work just as well.

Instructions

Begin by scoring the card base at 4-1/4″, fold and burnish with a bone folder.

*Scoring helps to avoid uneven bumps in your cardstock, but is not necessary to get a good fold. If you do not have a scoring blade or tool, simply fold the cardstock in half and burnish with an acrylic block, butter knife, fingernail, or anything with a smooth side that can help press the cardstock into a nice crisp fold.

Now, let’s make your own Designer Series Paper! Begin by stamping the largest snowflake in a few random areas of one of the white panels. Make sure some of the stamps are stamped off the edge. You can also ink the stamp, press it to a scrap piece of paper, then stamp it on the card panel for a lighter version to add some depth to the design.

Continue using more sizes and shapes as you see fit. I used all three snowflake stamps from the set, stamping from largest to smallest. Using the smallest stamp last helps to fill any gaps you might have.

Next, we will cut an 8″ length of ribbon and attach it to the card front by taping the ends to the back of the panel.

Adhere the panel to the card base.

Stamp sentiment on the sentiment panel using Blushing Bride ink.

Adhere the sentiment to the sentiment mat.

Add dimensionals (foam adhesive) to the back of the sentiment. Here you can see that I use every piece of foam adhesive I have, including the edges. I just cut them to size 🙂

Adhere the sentiment along the ribbon. I set it closer the the right edge so I could add a bow.

Cut a 4-1/2″ length of ribbon to make a cheater bow on the left side of the card front.

Add three Pearl Basic Jewels to accent the card. I added mine to the centers of some of the snowflakes.

Stamp a snowflake on the inside panel and adhere the panel to the inside of your card.
