Penguin Place – Project 3

Happy Stampin’ Friday!

Do you have any big plans for the weekend? I am hoping that the rain stays away so we can take the boat out on the lake. I love the water.

I also love snow, but I’m not quite ready for that yet. But, isn’t this little penguin, sliding down the snow hill on his belly, precious? It almost makes me want snow……

The Project:

Supply List:

  • Penguin Place Stamp Set
  • Fresh Freesia Cardstock – 8-1/2″x5-1/2″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″
  • Misty Moonlight Cardstock – 5-1/4″x4″
  • White Cardstock – Inside panel 5-1/4″x4″, tag 4-1/4″x2″
  • Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper (DSP) – 5″x3-3/4″
  • Ink – Tuxedo Black, Calypso Coral, Balmy Blue, and Misty Moonlight
  • Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon
  • Subtle Shimmer Sequins
  • Delightful Tag Topper

Instructions:

Gather the paper and trim to the above dimensions.

Score and fold card base using a bone folder for a crisp crease.

On the Fresh Freesia card base, layer the Misty Moonlight and Penguin Playmates DSP and glue down.

Trim small white piece using the Delightful Tag Topper punch on both sides.

Stamp sentiment along bottom left in Misty Moonlight.

Using Balmy Blue, stamp the hill form. To make mine lighter in color, I stamped once on a scrap piece of paper and then stamped onto my tag without reinking. This is called Stamping Off.

A) Using my Stamparatus (stamp positioning tool), I placed my tag onto the platform and used the magnets to hold it in place.

Next, place the stamp where you want it to stamp your image.

B) Swing the acrylic plate over the stamp and gently press down to collect the stamp, then swing back to the open position.

C) Ink up the stamp, using Tuxedo Black, and stamp image onto tag.

D) Notice how I did not get a perfect stamped image? I can reink my stamp and repeat the process until I get the perfect image.

E) Perfect image obtained.

Using Calypso Coral, I stamped the feet and beak after stamping off the ink onto a scrap of paper.

Cut two 8″ lengths of ribbon and tie bows to each end of the tag.

Glue tag to the card front and add some bling!

Make sure to stamp the inside of your card after gluing in the white panel. Sentiment is stamped in Misty Moonlight and the hearts in Fresh Freesia.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Make sure to subscribe to Let It Snow Stamping so you never miss another blog post. Every week I pick a stamp set and make one project (possibly two) every weekday. As an added bonus I also make videos for new techniques. The techniques can also be found under the Technique Corner tab.
